TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE

The Francesco Parisi Group was founded by the self-same Francesco Parisi (1778-1813) in 1807 in Trieste. Fifty years later, the Vienna branch was established, thereby making the Group an international company to all intents and purposes. Next came Venice in 1872, followed by Munich in 1879, Genoa in 1882 and Milan, 1898. From the end of the 1940s, the twentieth century saw the Group opening a large number of branches all over Eastern Europe, becoming a major figure in the post-war reconstruction.

MARTINO PARISI AND THE BOOM YEARS

At the end of the 1950s, Europe witnessed the extremely rapid growth of a fabric of small and medium-sized firms situated between Verona and Trieste. Known as the miracle of the North-East, it was examined worldwide and comprised family-run businesses which, taking advantage of the weak lira, exported Made in Italy all over the world. At this point, the Group's Treviso base was established, Martino Parisi Freight Carrier, headed by Martino himself.
In 1975, the Treviso headquarters became self-managing whilst continuing to maintain strong connections to its Parent Company in Trieste. Subsequently in 1989, Pier Leone Parisi, Martino's son, and Mario Girotto took over the running of the company.

MARTINO PARISI TODAY

In the 1990s, Martino Parisi created a new sector for Transportation Organisation, flanking the Customs Division, still the company's core business. The ongoing expansion of the European Union led to a section specialising in inter-EU state trade which is subject to the compulsory submission of the Intrastat forms.
In the meantime, the current financial climate in general and trends in international trade have convinced Martino Parisi Freight Carriers to specialise in freight operations involving the former Soviet bloc countries, the area of the Balkans and the Far East as well as India and Brazil.
